This set almost didn’t make it to you… I had seen a shape I absolutely fell in love with (kind of the round shape you see at the moment), but it was a totally different method of execution and materials.
As it’s with all things design, my brain takes the challenge in figuring out how to do what is relatively simple with one jewellery technique, but with another.
In this case, two pieces of metal merging into one and held by a weave… And the two-tone effect held in contrast.
I had done the circle one and was about to just keep it for myself, because for some reason I wasn’t sure. It is perfectly executed and neat, I just didn’t FEEL it.
But then my husband walked by and asked what I’d made (he always comes to peep in :o) and when I showed him he loved it and said “it’s you best work yet!“. Then another friend said the same. Then another… so here it is – a pair of pleated copper and silver earrings for you.
The design is unusual, and the copper parts are textured with a matt-like finish – so it really showcases that natural orangey-pinky colour. They look really good on actually. Especially with the very unusual triangular Carnelians.
I can see you wearing them with a floaty dress or even a clashing bright green shirt or suite. They’d even bring a bit of colour to a white-centric outfit.
Hey if you have red hair – you’d be the BOSS with these on :o) – just sayn’…
Apart from the straight earring being able to give someone a decent prod, the super powers here are inherited from the Carnelians.
Carnelians are my favorite stones, and they’re believed to bring the wearer confidence, physical vitality and empowerment to act to improve your world.
The stones I’ve used here are one of a kind in shape and colouring. I chose them to bring an opposing angularity to what is a very flowing design.
The other powerful thing to note is how there are sharp edges in both earrings, but they are satin smooth, and very very gently finished off.
I love putting this ambiguity together. It creates a curious discomfort in the eye of the beholder… one that just has to be explained :o)
OK – the round earring is 6 x 6cm, and the long one is 10cm by 1.5cm. You can change them around as you wish.
Clean them with gentle soapy water, and a polish cloth (which they will come with). Just like with any natural copper jewellery, avoid exposing it to perfumes, deodorants, hairsprays and so on.
You can check out the Care Tips page to see what else you can do to preserve it’s pretty looks for longer :o)
Please note that if you choose a Totem from the TLA shop (like the one on this page) you automatically get access to the TLA Course (value $19.99).
I decided to do things this way to remove the need to make a choice on 2 things (a totem and a course).
But more importantly I really really wanted you to have the gift of learning the TLA method.
If this is not your first Totem order, pls don’t feel you’re losing out. You keep your original access no matter what :o)
